Darren Grimes

Sept. 1, 2019

Self Help literature is a multi-million dollar industry and hundreds if not thousands of books are published on the subject every year, covering every topic you could conceive.  Change and personal growth are important and healthy, but if we do not approach them with the right perspective, they become just another useless gimmick.

Join our Redvers Campus Leader Darren Grimes as he explores this subject.

Zacchaeus, take 2!

August 25, 2019

As is usual with accounts in the Bible, there is more than one way to look at Zacchaeus' encounter with Jesus, and more than one point to take away from it.  Guest speaker Phil Heinrichs takes us through a second look at this interesting situation and leaves us with a second important challenge!

Zacchaeus

August 18, 2019

Zacchaeus was a lot of things before he met Jesus, none of them popular.  Yet Jesus went out of His way to encounter Zacchaeus, to speak with him and even to visit his home.  What's the deal with that, and how does it relate to our lives today?  Join us with guest speaker Phil Heinrichs to find out!

Is Your Heart Healthy?

The imagery of a heart is common enough these days, but in the Bible it meant something more, something deeper.  The human heart in the Bible is at the very core of who we are, and it is as vital as it is vulnerable.  How can we ensure our heart is resilient enough to endure under all of life's stresses?  Experience this unique message to find out!

Father's Day Message

June 16, 2019

Men, created in the image of God, were created to be Warriors.  Instead of fearing the strength and power implicit in men, we need to embrace it so that we can focus it in a way that honours Jesus.

100 Years: looking back and also looking forward!

June 9, 2019

It's so important to remember our past.  Where we came from, what things were like, and how it all led to today are meaningful and also informative.  It's too easy to forget that despite all the new flashy tools we have available (like smart phones and social media) that human nature hasn't really changed.  Last year OneChurch.ca turned 25, this year our Fellowship (the PAOC) turned 100.  We celebrate Pentecost Sunday with all this and more in mind.  Join us!

Darwin's Sex Secret - week 4

Feb. 24, 2019

How do we determine the value of anything in our society?  There is inherent value (intrinsic or base value) and there is also market value (the cost of something at any given time based on a variety of factors such as desirability and availability).  These economic principles can be applied to more than just goods and services: they can also be applied to relationships.  Human sexuality is more than a mere transaction, but the concepts of value and supply & demand are relevant to consider as sexual practices and perceptions have changed over the past half century.

What does all this mean for us today and what can we learn about our sexuality through the concepts of economics?  There's only one way to find out: watch this message!

Darwin's Sex Secrets - week 3

Feb. 17, 2019

Sex matters; sex has value.  Sex was designed and created by God and so God has some things to say about it.  But those things might not be what you expect.  The sexes sometimes seem so foreign to each other and frustration is often the result, but rather than thinking of those differences as wrong, artificial or simply annoying, we can learn to think of them as simply different.  Not wrong, not negative, just different.  Tune in today to find out how!

Darwin's Sex Secrets - week 2

Feb. 10, 2019

The level of exposure to pornography in our culture today is approaching the point of saturation.  It is everywhere, and research continues to prove that it is harming all our health - women as well as men!  Research is also discovering that masturbation does not have the same effects as actual intercourse.  There are lots more details in this message, and also lots of encouragement about finding help to face the challenges of porn addiction.  This is a battle that matters, it's a message that needs to be heard, so make the time to check out this important message!

To be clear, there will be some frank discussion of sex in our culture as well as use of scientific, medical and technical biological terms, but nothing graphic or explicit.  While we believe that children need to begin to hear about these matters at a relatively early age and we encourage you to include your children in these sessions, we want you to be informed so you can make that decision for yourself ahead of time.

Darwin's Sex Secret - week 1

February 3, 2019

Sexual reproduction is responsible for each of us being here on the Earth, and yet the science of reproduction poses some serious challenges to the theory of evolution.  Science, both fact and theory, and the biblical account of Creation need to be reconciled in order to achieve a healthy understanding of human sexuality.  Check your preconceptions at the door and be prepared to be challenged as Pastor Louis dives into this complicated and technical subject.  And this is only week 1!

Financial Seminar

Nov. 4, 2018

Special Guest, Clarence Mitchell

We all need money, we all use money, and we all know the frustration it can bring in our lives (especially when we feel like we don't have enough).  Not surprisingly, the Bible has some things to say about money, about how we use it and how we can make what we have go farther.

Join us for a Seminar that will help you to make better financial decisions, plan and prepare for the future, and find the right balance between spending, investing, saving and earning.  Click the "Work Book" link above to access the work book which you can use to get a better handle on where your money is going, planning a budget, and saving for retirement.

Drugs & Alcohol, a biblical and practical guide

Oct. 14, 2018

Canada has now legalized marijuana, and that has an impact on our entire society.  Drugs, alcohol and other addictive substances are nothing new.  In fact they have been around about as long as human civilization, but some things have changed.  Navigating these dangerous waters is vital because we can easily sink beneath the tide if we do not keep out footing.

Join us as we explore what the Bible has to say and consider the impact of these substances on our bodies and our lives.
